Your health, satisfaction, and comfort are our primary concern
Our family dentistry practice’s goal is to prevent dental disease. We offer free screenings for oral cancer and gum disease. Our dentist determines treatment and prescribes only the treatment which we would prescribe for a member of our own family. Transparent and informative sessions include you in every step of regular check-ups, dental education, and cosmetic dentistry.
A visit with Dr. Mark, as he is affectionately known to patients and staff, can feel more like a visit with a member of your family than a visit with your dentist. He is just as likely to sit and chat with you as he is to examine your mouth.
Yet his attention to the condition of your teeth and gums is second to none and he is scrupulously meticulous in his care.
A dedicated professional, Dr. Mark wanted to be a dentist ever since he was in high school, thanks to the inspiration of a close family friend and periodontist.
Following graduation from the University of Denver with a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry, Dr. Mark married his college sweetheart, Linda, and was off to Tufts University School of Dentistry in Boston.
After earning his doctor of dental medicine degree and starting his family, he returned to Denver in 1986 to begin practicing the profession he loved. In 1987 he acquired the practice of retiring dentist, Dr. Daniel Vedder, in Aurora, where he practiced until moving to the current Englewood office.
Dr. Mark Pasternak of Inverness Family Dentistry
In the past three decades, Dr. Mark’s patients have literally become a second family to him and he has treated many generations of patients. I love getting to know and treating families over a long period of time — watching them grow up and bring in their children, he says.
Dr. Mark has strived to establish a traditional family practice that meets current expectations and modern standards of care. He enjoys the challenge of treating a wide variety of patients from two to 92 and there is no dental service he will not provide for them.
He loves everything he does — children’s dentistry, fillings, crowns, cosmetics, dentures, endodontics, surgery and dental implants. His standards are high — no treatment is complete until he has personally seen to it that it meets with his total satisfaction.
A dedicated husband and father, Dr. Mark devotes as much time to his family as he does to his patients. When he’s not in the office, you can find Dr. Mark with Linda, an eighth grade teacher at Cherry Creek School District’s Campus Middle School, and their three children and their families. Mike, 32, is a practicing lawyer in Santa Barbara. Mike’s wife, Meagan, is a sixth grade school teacher. They have two children, Cooper and Charlotte. Tim, 28, is finishing his doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at DU. His wife, Allison, works for the Denver Center for Performing Arts. They have two daughters, Eleanor and Beatrice. Emily, 26, is a therapist in family counseling, in New Orleans. Her husband, Daniel, is an engineer for Shell.
Active members of Greenwood Community Church, both Dr. Mark and Linda have been leaders for the Christian youth groups, Wild Life and Young Life. Through the years, they have also been Scout leaders, leaders for Indian Guides and Princesses and Dr. Mark has coached his sons’ sports teams. In 2007, Linda and Emily traveled to Kenya on a medical mission.
Avid outdoor people, the family enjoys downhill skiing, snowshoeing, water skiing, tennis and sea kayaking. Dr. Mark, Mike and Tim are certified SCUBA divers.
Family vacations often find them visiting and spending time with grandchildren, or hiking in the mountains. Perhaps their favorite trips were an adventure to New Zealand to visit friends on an exchange program, and a church mission to Juarez, Mexico with several other families to build a house.
As he does for his own family, Dr. Mark wants nothing but the best for his patient family and will take the time to deliver it with the same kindness and care — along with a visit to catch up with your life.
Dr. Pasternak is active in numerous professional dental associations, including the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society and the Colorado and American Dental Associations.
